By Karina Frost

Some women with big breasts would often want to reduce the size because having breasts that are too large can pose some problems in the future like arthritis and other muscle pains. Now if one does not know how this goes, basically, the doctor will be removing some tissues from the breasts of the patient so that they will be reduced. So if one is curious about how the breast reduction anchorage goes, then here is a short overview.

Of course the very first part of the process would be the preparation as the doctor would be briefing the patient of what will happen. Now before anything else, the patients will have to undergo some tests to see if her body can actually take the operation. Now from there, the doctor will then tell her to fast for six hours before the operation starts.

Of course from there, the doctor will be briefing the patient about the operation. Firstly, the doctor will be asking the patient as to how much of the breast will she want removed. Of course the doctor will then use a marker in order to indicate the parts that he will be taking out from the breasts of the patient.

Once the preparation part is already over, then the operation can commence. Now just to give people an idea, the operation will on average. Take up to two hours or maybe even four depending on how tedious or hard the job may be. Basically, what the doctors will be doing would be they would remove the fat of the lower part of her breast and make the nipple go to a higher position.

Of course this will actually leave a wound on the area where the excess fat was once. In order to cover it up, the doctors would stitch it up so that the newly operated breasts will stay in place. Once the operation is done, then the patient is brought to a recovery room to rest and recover.

Now one of the great things about this type of operation is that the patient does not need to stay too long in the hospitals but they may stay overnight if they would want. Now they would have to take painkillers every regularly so that the pain is reduced. The doctors will also be providing a certain type of support bra so that the patient will be more comfortable.

Now one should take note that her breasts are going to hurt for a while because of her wound. So for around two weeks, she should make sure to not do any strenuous activity because there is a risk that the stitch may actually break. Now it is for this reason that one should rest for around two weeks before walking around.

Now just to give people an estimate, after fourteen days or two weeks, one can actually go back to work already. However, she should still refrain from any strenuous work or lifting of heavy things. After another two or three weeks, she will be back to normal and she can resume everything that she used to do before.
