It's coming, the Zombie run Dallas is almost here. If you don't know what this is, keep reading. These are fun races where the undead are out with one mission, and that is to infect. This event is is a great way to enjoy a fun day out with family and friends. There are plenty of challenges and obstacles that need to be completed in order to successfully finish the race. The length of these races varies between 3 and 5km, with a finishing time of 3 to 4 hours.
The idea of the event is to race against the undead and get the cure that has been found against the epidemic. The goal is to get this cure through the different challenges. At each task, racers will be able to unlock weapons that can be used against the zombies. Participants need to register for the event online, as registration on the day will not be permitted.
The participants are given flag belts, similar to the ones used in flag football. Flags are used to represent each contestant's health bar. The job of the zombies is to take as many flags as possible. Once all your flags have been taken, you will be considered as being "infected". If you want to stay alive for longer, you may want to keep an eye open for some hidden health flags.
Racers are given clues that will lead them to the various challenges along the streets of the city. These fun tasks will usually test the muscle and thinking skills of the teams. There may be short exercises or even some interesting trivia questions, so be prepared. Beware, the zombies come out of everywhere, even at the check points.
Every team makes their path through the race. The only obligation is to complete all challenges before making an approach to the finish line. Once the race is finally over, the participants who couldn't finish the race due to infection or death are able to dress according to their new status and attend their own party, where they have dance off contests and other entertainment.
The race will certainly be on, even if it is raining or has rained the night before, so bring your trainers and be prepared. The participants must be 15 years old, or older, to be able to run the race. Individuals that are younger can walk the length of the race, in cases of a person being younger than 7 years old, they can be accompanied by a guardian, or their parents.
When the participants register, they are requested to bring a photo ID and a signed Game waiver. The undead are requested to attend with their costumes, for as long as the racers do. The runners are reminded to wear comfortable outfits for their race against the undead.
All Zombie run Dallas participants are given some treats for their participations, entrance to the after party is included, as is a t-shirt and a chance to win a prize. The undead are not really allowed to get physical with the racers, they need only retrieve the flags and it shouldn't be in a violent way. Remember please, this race is not certified, it's just for the fun.
