Taking pictures of patient's teeth has suddenly become much easier with a technology called dental digital imaging. The x-ray from a century ago is quickly being replaced by cutting edge technology where both the patient and dentist benefit. This technology is redefining how to approach dental techniques.
Most importantly there is a reduction of exposure to radiation so this is a patient friendly process. There is no chemical processing since x-ray sensors are used instead of film. The imaging takes place much more quickly and can be viewed in two dimension and three dimension formats.
