The 2 Main Types Of The Breast Implants

By Scott White

The breast implant is one type of prosthesis process which is being used in order to make some changes on the shape, contour, and size of the breasts. For the reconstructive plastic surgeries, the breast implants are placed in order to do the restoration of breasts, making it look more natural. These are often applied to patients who have undergone mastectomy or for chest walls that have congenital defects or deformities.

The devices to be utilized for this breast implant have three classifications that would include the saline solution, composite filler, and the silicone gel. In breast implants Michigan, two common type are only utilized for mammoplasty, breast reconstruction, and breast augmentation procedures. The two types are silicone implant where in this is using gels and saline solution where in saline solution is used.

In Michigan, saline solution is one type that used mostly by surgeons for prosthesis procedures using the devices for breasts augmentation. And the reason for this is due to the restrictions provided by FDA regarding on the usage of silicone filled implants. This process has a technical goal of making a technique which is lesser invasive for a surgery when emplacing empty device with a small surgical incision.

In surgical praxis, whenever the implants will be emplaced already inside pockets, the devices would be filled in by surgeons with saline solutions. Because insertion incisions were being required to become short and small, incision results of scars for sure are shorter and are smaller if compared to those usual scars in surgeries having longer incisions that are required for gel insertion.

Thus, when this is being compared to silicone gel types, it will surely be yielding much acceptable results specifically for an increase in size, and thus, it becomes smoother and also has a hemisphere contour and its texture becomes realistic. However, the patient may also be experiencing the side effects like having cosmetic problems. The problems would include wrinkling and rippling the envelope skins, and the lower pole stretches will be accelerated.

Some other problems that are caused by this are some technical problems including the presence of implants which can be visible to the eye and also when being touched. Most likely, these cosmetic problems may only occur to those women having little tissues. And for those women having the cases of post mastectomy, silicone gels are advisable as prosthetic devices for both augmentation and reconstruction of breasts.

However, the gels, as one type of a medical device technology, has 5 generations. Each of this generation can be defined by specific techniques in model manufacturing. First generation is made of rubber envelope sac. The shape is the same as to a teardrop and filled in with silicone gels. For a reduction of emplacement rotation on the chest wall, it will be affixed to pockets by using fastener patches.

Second generation features both aesthetic improvements and functional developments of a product. Both third and fourth generations, for the manufacturing technology are sequential advances. These technologies include shells coated with an elastomer for decreasing the gel bleed and having thicker filler gel.

And in fifth generation, a high strength cohesive gel is used. This will eliminate filler leakage occurrences. And also, eliminates silicone filler migrations in pockets. Another term for these implants is gummy bear breasts implant since the features are very similar to gummy bears.
