Exercise, Lifestyle and Slimming Tips to Inspire

By Ian Bowland

Marcus Cicero in 65BC stated "It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor."

Hopefully a few of these healthy way of life and slimming tips will inspire you.

Open Mind

In Japan there's a phrase shoshin, meaning "beginners mind". What does this mean? In the beginners mind there are lots of possibilities; in the professionals mind there are few. Always be open to novel experiences.

Visualize

Are you able to see where you wish to be? Visualize your targets. Cut out an image of a dress you like or that image of you at your ideal weight make sure it's somewhere you can see it and keep thinking. Everything is imagined before it becomes real.

Step-by-step

Having only one big goal may appear simple but it is also a good way off. Frustration can set in. Try adding in smaller steps, like going to the gymnasium three times a week or only consuming red meat on Fridays and Saturdays. Think little steps.

Switch off the lights

When the cooking is done the kitchen is closed. Don't be tempted back to stack. Switch off the lights, clear away the plates and close the door.

Masses of H20

Ensure you drink plenty of water to keep your energy levels up and take the edge of any hunger.

Habit is your enemy

Whatever you typically think; believe the opposite. Breaking habits can be an enjoyable and constructive experience. Our brains don't always work for us. Continually posing questions of ourselves can be a phenomenally strong tool. Step out of your comfortable zone.

No-one knows anything

What is now will not always be. Forget the critics. That's not to say everyone seems to be stupid? What is a smart idea? One that happens.

Wish is not want

Wish means: would it not be pleasant if. Want means: if I want it enough I'm going to get it. Small but big difference.

Mate up

Working out with a chum can be a good way to stay inspired. Meet each other for a run in the morning or take an aerobics session after work.

Stress

Stress and modern life go hand in hand. Still, it's important you try and develop coping mechanisms to minimize the effects it has on your body. Often overeating and other unhelpful habits are the result of a stressful mind.

Plan ahead

Don't leave meals to chance. Shedding weight is a formula. A specific calculation that needs heavy thought. Be prepared. Plan when and what you're going to eat to take some of the strain and pressure away from mealtime.

Treat yourself

Don't forget to reward yourself.

Enjoy eating

Think about every mouthful you eat. Slow down. Don't just eat unconsciously. Becoming conscious of tastes and flavours can help you become more in harmony with your body and it's wants. The fork is not a shovel.

Get provoked

Pinch. Take influences from everywhere anything that fuels your inventiveness. Anything that speaks to you. Originality does not exist. Read, watch, listen. It's not where it's taken from but where it's taken to.

Fail a few times

Do not be scared of failure or to try something different. Train wrecks will happen. Failing is part of life. Just fail better next time.

Take charge

Be honest with yourself. When things go bad don't shift the blame. Yes, it's enticing to avoid responsibility but when you take it you'll find out what you're capable of.

Discomfort is inevitable

In life at some specific point you will feel agony both psychologically and/or physically. It is an inevitable fact. Suffering though is optional. To steal a boxing metaphor - it is not how hard you hit but how much you can take and keep coming forward.

Life is bigoted

Come to terms with this. Play the cards you're dealt the most effective way you can. In each downside there is always an advantage.

Music

There's a reason that explains why people exercise to music. Listening to an external impulse can prompt many positive physical and psychological responses. Listen to the music you love and get motivated.

Hungry=eat

Don't try and starve yourself. If you do you'll end up splurge eating. Starvation based dieting may in the short term help you to lose weight but as you come off the diet the weight will swiftly return. Eat when you are really hungry.

Be yourself

The great majority of people are other people. Their thoughts the opinions of some other person. There is no right viewpoint. You are always right and always wrong. Different perspective. Don't worry. Be yourself.

Take Care and Exercise

If you take care of yourself, exercise and eat reasonably particularly in the right clothing such as in slimming leggings and compression gear then not merely will you are feeling better within yourself your recovery. After exercise will be miles better as well.
