There are hundreds of thousands of men and women who have had metal on metal hip replacements in this land alone. The original style of prosthetic hip replacement components was created with titanium. This is a very heavy and durable type of metal. Most parts last for more than a quarter of a century. In other circumstances chromium and cobalt were used instead of the same type.

Reports of terrible effects of the replaced parts of their bodies were not uncommon. Metallosis was one of the named incidences. The only thing that can end this is to go back into surgery and have all the damaged bone taken out plus remove the prosthetic device.

Bursitis and osteolisis are other two major difficulties arising from such implants. This is when the gadget has caused an issue with the bursa and it has swolen. This can be quitened with medication you can be prescribed by the doctor. Osteolysis is another very severe circumstance of metal on metal hip parts. This is when the product has caued bone loss because of the inflammation of the encircling tissue. When these two things occur it leads to the joint to loosen and then the real pain begins.

A second operation can help rectify these problems. The identical brand of parts will not be used in a second procedure. And, the pain you have gone through will be eliminated.
