Confessions of Men's Skin Care Products Shopper

A Nameless Men's Skin Care Products Shopper - The name is not important.

My Story As A Secret Men's Skin Care Products Shopper

I'm not into color palettes and incense. I don't ask for directions, I don't think man toys need instruction manuals and I don't mind a power saw for Christmas.

You know I am the masculine type of man. I work hard, I play hard, and "if it don't go good with beer, I don't eat it, OK!"

But just lately, I started to notice something that I couldn't ignore any longer - my face in the mirror. It was growing older. It was like in a flash, the years just caught up with me.

This isn't about having pretty boy looks. It's about making it in a competitive world. I can't afford to look old and dull. I really cannot afford to be left behind because of my face. Would you? I just want to look good - I want to get ahead of everybody, nothing more!

A Secret Men's Skin Care Products Shopper - Drug Store Dilemma

I finally decided to do a plan. So I go to the drug store. BIG. MISTAKE. Did you ever try to look at men's skin care items there? In fact, I missed it when I went there for the first time . The men's skin care products selection was literally very small for me to find it. So I went over to the women's beauty aisle. I figured if anybody stare at me funny, I'd just mumble something about picking up stuff for my girl. EVEN. BIGGER. MISTAKE. I've been in airports that were less confusing. Row after row of skinc are products, all of them claiming stuff that made me even more confused than when I started. Do I really want to try these girly products on my face? No thanks.

A Secret Men's Skin Care Products Shopper - Going into the Heart of Darkness

I decided to go to the department stores at the mall. It was hard. I've got friends around here, you know. Any one of them, or their wives, girlfriends, or hell, even their kids could see me at one of those fancy-schmancy beauty counters.

I understand that I could have end up leaving with nothing. Mindlessly, I grabbed a serum, a moisturizer, toner, facial cleanser, and night cream and charge my credit card with a few hundred dollars (yeah, you heard that right), and ran outta there.

Secret Shopper for Masculine Skin Care - Red as a Lobster

All that stuff was a nightmare. I forgot which tube went on my face before which bottle and which cream was for day and which one was for night. So I piled them all on (I mean, the more stuff, the quicker my wrinkles go away right?). But I just felt oilier with the mix of chemicals on my face; thus, I rinsed them all out.

My hope was in the super expensive eye cream that I thought would justify its price, right? Nope. But it simply disappeared without much improvement.

But I saved the 'best' for last. Remember that face scrub? It was like cleaning my face with gravel - no, with pieces of broken glass. My face was so red when it was done, that I looked like a boiled lobster...and felt like one, too. Man, the thing was supposed to 'get rid of dead skin cells', but I think it was designed to get rid of ALL of my skin cells.

So like I said, it was a disaster. Instead of coming out looking like a superstar, I came out looking like some guy who just squandered a couple of hundred dollars, hours of my own time, and was a boiled lobster.

I was not a happy guy.

A Secret Men's Skin Care Products Shopper - Best Masculine Men's Skin Care Products or Nothing At All

You know, it was hell for me to tell you about the whole men's skin care products thing. But if my confession saves just one single other person from going through my pain, then it'll be really worth it. Because there are lots of masculine men out there, and we require companies and products to offer us a good shake, instead of trying to turn us into a pack of wusses.
