It is acknowledged that following a lifestyle that includes healthy living and eating leads to prevention of serious illnesses and living to a ripe old age. Achieving an excellent lifestyle is not hard though very often most people are frightened off of the thought when the word health is used in conjunction with food and lifestyle choices. There are hundreds of publications that advice on the importance of maintaining a good lifestyle by embracing life choices which are not detrimental to health, consuming right and exercising.

Food consumption with health in mind requires choosing wisely what to consume from all food groups. Serving recommended portions prevents consuming to much of a variety which may cause health concerns. This can be achieved by use of food pyramid guideline or my plate guide. Plenty of calcium and vitamin D should be included to ensure strong bones and teeth at old age.

The importance of good sleep and rest should not be overstated to attaining a perfect lifestyle. Rest and sleep helps the body to heal from mental and physical activities which drain energy. Mental stress and depression can be avoided by relaxing and enjoying plenty of adequate sleep on a regular basis. Sleep and rest is health.

The heart plays a vital role in the body which no other organ can duplicate. Keeping it in perfect condition by consuming heart friendly nutritious foods is of paramount importance to maintain a good lifestyle. Foods high in cholesterol and trans fats should be consumed in small quantities. Regular exercising to maintain a perfect body weight, keeping the body in shape and cutting down on excess fat should be encouraged. Addictive habits which do not add value to the body's health such as over consumption of alcohol, caffeinated drinks and smoking should be abandoned or permitted in moderation.

Keeping the body well hydrated is vital to maintaining a perfect body and a well moisturized skin. Over indulgence on alcohol, smoking and hard drugs endangers health while fluids high in sugar should consumed in moderation. Maintaining a clean environment guarantees an excellent life.

Healthy living and eating should be embraced as a culture. It should also be seen as a necessity to maintaining good health, boosting Morales and saving on hospital bills. As observed, choosing to live a good lifestyle is an inexpensive but a simple idea.
