Look Your Best With Sun Lab

By Haywood Hunter

Sun Lab has taken the science of self-tanning and turned it into an art. It is very dangerous to sunbathe because of the UV rays that are extremely detrimental to the health of one's skin. The UV rays emitted into the atmosphere are strong enough to cause sun burn and cancer.

One can choose from many different kinds of products to darken the skin tone. Sometimes dyes are used to create the darker skin. Some women will use a bronzer which is a temporary cosmetic which easily washes away.

One can use gels, creams or sprays to get a great looking tan. Bronzers which are a type of cosmetic and can be applied to give the same effect. Using a bronzer application is a temporary solution. Other self-tanning solutions which are more permanent that contain chemicals such as DHA and Erythrulose can also be applied.

Some spas have facilities that such as sun-booths where tanning products are sprayed directly to one's body. Of course, the client can choose how dark they want their skin to be and there are different levels that one can choose from. One can choose to go really dark or to just darken the skin slightly to achieve an olive type complexion. These spray-on booths are normally available at spas, beauty salons and specific skin treatment clinics.

When one uses a spray tanning product, the spray is not a color. It is a chemical that burns the dead skin cells which results in the darkened color. Dihydroxyacetone and erythrulose are the two active ingredients in sunless tanners.

The combinations of chemicals that are active are called dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and erythrulose which will react to the dead skin cells of the epidermis also known as the stratum corneum. Both substances when blended together will provide a longer lasting tanned appearance than if they were used separately. Erythrulose is a chemical that consists of a keto sugar base which reacts to the basic chemistry of the skin.

It fades faster than Dihydroxyacetone or DHA based tan however; when the two ingredients are used in conjunction with each other, the tan has an immediate effect and lasts longer. As thousands of dead skin cells fall off on a daily basis, it is important to note that self-tanners are known to last up to 10 days and they fade as the dead skin cells fall away. They don't fade with sweat or dishwater, however, the use of exfoliates will help the dye to fade faster.

Sun Lab are the developers of these effective self-tanning solutions. They also produce effective sunscreen products which will protect the body from the UVB and UVA rays that are produced in the atmosphere. This organization advocates the use of artificial tanning solutions rather than sunbathing because it is much better for the skin's health.
