Treat Acne Skin - Research The Root Causes Inside And Out

By Jeff Yuan

Whenever you have a problem to solve, the best solutions come from comprehending why the problem began. This is true for acne: you need to know both the external as well as internal causes in order to cure acne skin. Read these causes and you'll be on your way to an effective treatment.

First off, you really ought to know what external forces are at work to cause your skin condition. You'll want to be sure to avoid any skin care agents that lead to acne. Many don't have an inkling what products can be the culprit unless they've tried the product. This system of trial and error is necessary to a degree since everyone is unique - but be sure to stop using a product if it makes things worse.

You can also limit your exposure to the sun - despite your quest for a tan. Overly-exposing yourself to the sun will damage your skin and make your acne worse. Finding a way to cure acne skin will also mean protecting yourself from the sun: use sunscreen always, and limit your exposure.

Last on the external causes list, you'll want to reconsider your washing routine. Yes, you'll have to wash your face with warm water and use a good soap, but you'll need to be sure you only wash 2-3 times a day. You will also need to avoid "popping" your pimples or squeezing your white and blackheads. This will introduce bacteria and irritate your skin.

So much for the external elements - now for the internal elements that lead to acne. If you want to cure acne skin, you need to know about the bacteria involved, "P. Acne." This bacteria actually is found on our skin. It will attract the leukocytes (white blood cells) and therefore will cause your body to produce a certain enzyme which leads to inflamed and red skin. Reduce the P. Acne on the skin and you'll address the inflammation of acne.

The next internal element is an oil known as sebum. This is what fills your hair follicles and gives the skin a greasy look. Though it is itself beneficial to the skin, as it will water-proof the skin and transport the dead cells to the surface of the skin, sometimes the follicles get obstructed. This obstruction will trap sebum in the follicle, thereby leading to pimples.

The sad and final cause that leads to acne is our genetic code. Acne is genetic in many cases, as the qualities of our skin are determined by our genes - how thick our skin is, oil producing qualities, hormonal system...all of these qualities are controlled by genetics. It may point you to a cure, however, since someone in your family has had to overcome it - use what they found to work.
