Easy Recipes for Making Your Own Oatmeal Facials at Home

By Christina Aguilar

Skin treatments with natural ingredients are preferred by many people. There's no reason to spend money at the spa, after all, when you can get the same results with ingredients found in your kitchen.

Some people use homemade facials to save money; others because of sensitivity to the chemicals in mass produced products. Still others make their own because they prefer natural ingredients. No matter why you want to homemade facials, explore those using oatmeal because oatmeal is great for the skin. The following recipes are good oatmeal facials to try.

Use your microwave to warm up half a cup of water. While the water warms, mix together instant oatmeal, honey, cinnamon, and toddlers milk in a bowl. Then add the warmed water to the bowl to form a paste. Test the temperature of the paste to make sure it won't burn you, then, apply to your face. Apply evenly over your face, avoiding your eyes. Leave the mask on your face for 30 to 60 minutes. Use water and papaya soap, usually found in the organic section of the grocery store, to wash it off. If you can't find papaya soap or don't want to use it, you can use whatever soap you have on hand. Pound some oatmeal in your blender or food processor. In a different container, stir together a couple tablespoons of honey with a quarter cup of plain yogurt of buttermilk. Add together the mixtures until you have made a paste. Spread the mixture all over your face with your fingers. Be mindful of steering clear of your eyes and the areas near them as this skin is pretty sensitive, even to unprocessed ingredients. Let the substance stay on your face for approximately fifteen minutes, give or take, it starts to dry out. Use clean and warm water to wash the substance off your face. If you have any extra, put it aside in the fridge for tomorrow (although, don't put it in there for more than a day). This fusion is kind enough that you can utilize it on a daily basis if you so desire.

If your skin tends to be on the dry side try this next method. Use a tablespoon of dry oatmeal to massage your face. Apply a mixture of mashed banana and yogurt as you would a regular moisturizer. As you spread this mixture onto your skin avoid your eyes. Allow this to sit for twenty minutes before rinsing it off with warm clean water.

As you can see there are many types of facial methods you can choose from especially when you read about the Meaningful Beauty reviews. Before you spread your own mix across your skin do a patch test for sensitivity. With some luck you'll find a recipe that works well for your sin without the expense of the spa.
