Can You Cut Your Tobacco Bill In Half With Smokeless Cigarettes

By Todd Wilkinson

E-cigarettes are a recent invention that are advertised everywhere and talked about by both smokers and non smokers, with many people wondering the same thing, can you cut your tobacco bill in half with smokeless cigarettes. In theory, it is most definitely possible. E-cigs are the cheaper option when all is considered, despite their initial costly purchase.

Electronic cigs work by vapor, rather than actual smoke from the tobacco in ordinary ones. The smoker inhales on the cigarette in the usual way but it releases a vapor directly into the user's mouth, rather than by being lit and releasing smoke into the area around the smoker. This means that they are more efficient, as they don't burn away regardless of whether or not the smoker is actually smoking them or not.

The largest expense of smokeless cigarettes is the initial purchase of them. Usually smokers will need a starter kit of the atomizer and cartridges. After that, cartridges are usually worked out to cost the equivalent of 5 real cigarettes, but the cartridge will last for 15. Therefore they are much more economical, being less than half the usual cost of smoking.

A complaint of smokers is that the cartridges needed for the e-cigs are usually only available in multi-packs. At first, this means that it may seem like the smoker is spending much more money on the vapor cigarettes, but in fact they are just purchasing them in advance. One pack of cartridges usually contains 20 and each is worth 15 real ones, so in fact a pack will last the smoker for the time it would usually take them to smoke 300 cigarettes.

E-cigs have many more advantages than just the price of them. Due to the fact they don't contain smoke, they are safer to be around for non smokers and even other smokers, who won't have to inhale poisonous fumes. On top of this, they are safer for the smoker too, because they don't contain the usual chemicals that ordinary cigarettes do. Nicotine, studies have shown, is not dangerous for people to inhale, other than its addictive nature.

Some people may be worried about how long lasting the atomizers themselves are. Since they are the biggest expense, it would cost a lot of money to have to buy a new one every week or whatever. In truth, the atomizer will last several years or more if it is cared for. Washing it regularly with hot water, and occasionally descaling it will help to ensure the longevity of the atomizer, as will putting it in a container after use.

You can get a multitude of types of e-cig and again, a variety of vapor cartridges for them, depending on the individual taste of the smoker. This is similar to other forms of smoking and tobacco products. It might be a good idea if the user shops around to ascertain the most economical option for themselves.

It is definitely likely that you can cut your cigarette bill in half with smokeless cigarettes. While initially, the costs of beginning to smoke using an electronic method are steep, they even out in the long term when the user saves money from having to replace cartridges less often. Like with anything, if a smoker is wasteful and throws away cartridges before they are empty, or doesn't store them properly, they will cost more.
