Should I See a Dentist for My Toothache?

When you're experiencing a toothache, you may well be questioning when you ought to pay a visit to the dentist or just try to deal with the pain alone.

3. Cracked Teeth - If a tooth cracks or breaks, you can get a severe toothache. Teeth can be cracked from a facial injury, or even from biting something very hard. When you've cracked or broken a tooth, it's crucial that you visit the dental office right away.

4. Impacted Teeth- Impacted teeth are the type that are wanting to erupt, but are struggling to complete the eruption process; more often than not as a result of lack of space. This impaction can cause extreme pain. Quite often the dentist will extract these teeth to help remedy the pain. Wisdom teeth are often impacted, and so are taken out thru oral surgery.

As you have seen, going to the dentist is very important if you'd like to remove toothache. A lot of the problems that create toothaches may be repaired or taken care of.

When it comes to gingivitis, it's important to visit your dentist and to work on a program of good oral hygiene at home as well. Many of the symptoms of gingivitis can be corrected, and even reversed, by proper oral hygiene.
